Our Experience & Tips
After cooking daily with this CAROTE set for over a month—everything from delicate eggs and sticky cheese to searing meats—a few things stood out immediately. First, the nonstick coating is the real deal. We made an omelet without using a single drop of oil, and it literally slid right out of the pan onto the plate. Second, while the pots and pans are technically dishwasher safe, we highly recommend hand-washing them with a soft sponge. Throwing nonstick cookware in the dishwasher repeatedly is the fastest way to ruin the coating, no matter what brand it is. A quick wipe with warm soapy water takes literally five seconds because nothing sticks to it anyway.
Compared to expensive stainless steel sets that require preheating and precise temperature control, this set is incredibly forgiving for beginners. The aluminum core heats up fast and distributes heat evenly, so you rarely get hot spots that burn your food in the center of the pan. Our biggest warning, however, is to absolutely avoid using metal spatulas or forks in these pans. Even though the titanium coating is tough, a sharp metal edge will scratch it over time. Stick to silicone, wood, or plastic utensils, and this set will last you a very long time.
What to Consider Before Buying
Before you swap out your old kitchen gear, keep your cooking style in mind. If you cook a lot of heavy, high-heat dishes like searing steaks or deep-frying, nonstick pans are generally not the best choice for sustained extreme heat, as it can degrade the coating faster. For that, cast iron or stainless steel is better. However, if you cook a lot of eggs, pasta, sautéed vegetables, and everyday family meals, this 16-piece set is a dream. Also, note that the Bakelite handles are designed to stay cool on the stovetop, but they are NOT oven-safe at high temperatures.
